How we estimate your student's odds
Every report runs on a 56-factor algorithm built by an expert college counselor and benchmarked against the data of thousands of admitted students.
Context comes first
We weigh each answer in light of the student’s specific context: the school, the opportunities available, and the student’s circumstances. The same grades or activities can mean different things in different settings.
Calibrated against admitted students
Then we calibrate the student’s profile against admitted students’ stats to estimate the odds of admission.
Odds by school
Odds are shown for each schools. Schools are tiered based on the U.S. News & World Report rankings.
What the odds assume
The odds assume a strong application (essays and activities/awards descriptions) and strong letters of recommendation. Without the baseline of a strong application and letters of recommendation, the student's odds meaningfully decrease and rejection becomes more likely. Conversely, an exceptional application and letters of recommendation raise the odds accordingly, as determined by our proprietary algorithm.
Missing information
If questions are skipped, the algorithm computes odds without those factors.
Estimates, not guarantees
These are estimates, not a guarantee of admission.
